So to start I am a variable dinosaur in the job market. I am 38 no college degree, no technical certifications; but I make up for that in experience. To me personal hands on dedicated experience should be more merit than a 250k piece of paper that says I can do something. I think having done something is a testament to the fact that I am capable of doing it. But what do I know, I'm just a guy looking for something more in a world that keeps offering less and less. As I fiddle through indeed, zip recruiter, and linked in, what I can tell is this whole process is insane. Job listings are misleading on salary ranges, and what you could earn. The jobs themself are bland, AI written bullet points with no real designation of what you will be doing. The requirements don't justify the listing or the pay. You want someone with a 4 year degree, a 2 year cert and at least 5 years experience. That is roughly a decade of learning and working for your job that wouldn't cover the bills of a high school student. There needs to be a way to clear up this process; To make it more realistic. Were all human and the system we have established means most of us need to work in order to make money to survive, we weren't born in to wealth or were never guided to the path of wealth generation. So let's make it more real. Post what someone can actually make. Post what they will actually be doing.
