State Senate passes package of animal welfare legislation
By Ali Hibbs Albany, N.Y. — The state Senate passed a raft of legislation this week aimed at protecting the rights and improving the health and safety of domestic animals in New York. The bills include legislation meant to raise awareness of safety standards for domestic animals, increase the punishment for cruelty against animals, prohibit the declawing of cats, require the installation and testing
