Ethics in Albany remains elusive
Former MTA head Joe Lhota resigned last fall because he was ethically compromised, according to a recently revealed resignation letter that refutes a different tale told by Lhota and Gov. Andrew Cuomo; and Cuomo appears reluctant to restore contractual oversight authority he revoked from the state comptroller more than a decade ago, even though that revocation likely enabled the infamous Buffalo Billion bid-rigging scheme and resulted in the criminal convictions of some of Cuomo’s cronies.
