The castle is warm and loud with chatter, cats and dogs eating and talking excitedly about the upcoming event. The large dinner table is filled with food, brought in by many of the citizens of Loaf Kingdom. The King, Butch, an old grey dog with irreparable scars and bald patches on his fur, sits up onto the throne and clears his throat. "Dogs and cats of Loaf Kingdom, I request attention amongst all." His loud deep voice silences everyone at once, no one dare not listen to the king. He nods as he sees everyone's cooperation, before speaking again, "We all know that I, Butch Woofendile, am getting older by the second, and it is time I pass my role as king onto another." Everyone nods slowly, some even dipping their head in respect for the old dog. King Butch continues, "My next king in line is... Prince Pooch." The crowd erupted in cheers and excitement, as they moved out of the way to make a walkway for the prince. A smiling tan shepadoodle walked towards the throne, looking up at King Butch with those sparkling eyes that never faltered. As he reaches the front of the throne, he sat down before it, waiting for the words he's longed to hear. King Butch smiled, "Prince Pooch, my dearest grandson, do you promise to keep your heart to Moonclan, protect and serve this Kingdom, even if it costs your life?" Prince Pooch nodded eagerly. "Yes sir, I do, I swear to Moonclan." King Butch nodded in satisfaction. "Well, then, you said it yourself. You will from now on be known as King Pooch. Tomorrow night at moonhigh, you will go to the village and earn your crown, official name, and your protection from the medicine dog." The crowd once again cheered for King Pooch, chanting his new name in congratulations.

Later that night, King Pooch rose from his bed, the castle quiet except for the occasional hoot of an owl, and the ticking on the clock. The time. The time was ticking. So close to dawn, and he needed to kill King Butch, kill him so he wouldn't be at the protection ceremony, kill him so he can take the crown that has the old gold and diamonds. Sure, it's a bit rusted, but it costs a lot because of who touched it, and where it's been. If he got a new one, it'd be nearly worthless, not as valuable as the one who the king of 50 years had touched! He padded through the large corridors. Gladly, all the guards have been instructed to sleep well, since there will be a big ceremony throughout the day. As he passed by his friend, Sweets's room, he thought about her and her looks. She was another princess, a pretty beaglier dyed pink with purple spots from some Twoleg pups on the streets. King Pooch, however, thought that was hot and he truly admired Sweets for not only her looks, but her personality too. Unfortunately, she had a boyfriend, a brown and white English Bulldog named Hughie. He sighed softly, before continuing his way down the corridor. As he reached the kings room, he sent a silent prayer to Moonclan {"Please, Moonclan! Guide my paws..."} before stepping into the large space. It was a spacious center, nearly spotless, as the first rays of sunshine peaked in from the huge bone shaped window. Very soon, this room would be his, everything in it, all his, but not yet. He slowly crept to the side of the bed, right next to King Butch's head. He readied himself, before viciously mauling at his neck, making sure to officially kill him. Only did he stop when he noticed the room fade into a light orange, marking his time to clean up and quickly get back to his bedroom. He dashed down the hall, nearly stumbling into his room, and rushed to the bathroom. There he started the water and jumped in almost immediately, sighing in relief that he'd managed to get into a good position where'd he'd look normal being, because all dogs need a good bath every once in a while, yes?

May 14th, 11:46

The time came when it was the king ceremony. Cats and dogs eating and talking, a few elders gossiping among each other; the apprentices were play-fighting, practicing their moves against each other, and the maids and chefs doing their job, just happy to be around so many happy people; King Pooch cleared his throat and tapped his glass for attention. "Everyone who came of Loaf Kingdom, I have something to announce!" Cameras were rolling, apprentices and kits and pups were all watching with excitement, he could only guess it was their first king ceremony. Nobody knew what to expect from the mouth of the to-be king. He straightened himself, forming tears in his eyes, he even whined a little. "It brings me to sorrow saying this, King Butch Woofendile is dead; I'll be in his room mourning alone, and I feel horrible that I have to sleep there, though it is part of old tradition." The room erupted in yowls, barks, and bays, the apprentices whined sorrowfully, while the kits and pups dipped their head as they were taught in school. King Pooch just wiped his tears and went up the long staircase leading to the corridor he walked down earlier. He was very cautious, crouching down into a hunter's prowl and sniffing at the ground to see if there was a scent trail showing evidence of his sin. Thankfully, he didn't scent anything, but before he got up, Sweets spotted him. "What are you doing on the floor, Pooch?" She'd whine, tilting her head in mere confusion. "Are you searching for something? I have good scent." King Pooch shook his head, glad that dogs couldn't blush, otherwise he'd be red. "No, thank you though. I'm just... Shaken." He sniffled lightly, then he got an idea. If he acted soft and close to Sweets, would her boyfriend get mad? A whole plan was already forming, and he was going to go with it. He whined lightly, before pressing his nose to her brisket. She chuckled softly and gave him a few soft licks. Perfect. "Oh Pooch, I'm very flattered that you depend on me, but you're practically king and you're going to the medicine den tonight, you should start manning up." King Pooch nodded in agreeance. "Yeah, maybe you're right... I'm going to try to get settled in my new room now... Goodbye, Sweets." Sweets hummed, giving her paw a few licks, before getting King Pooch onto his paws. "Okay, you puppy. See you soon." She teased, trotting off back downstairs. King Pooch sighed, thinking to himself {"Gosh, this is gonna be a rough day."}
