Do you know A Mexica Tale by Christopher Garcia?

I've always loved the heroes of cultures from around the world. From Shaka Zulu to Beowolf to Robin Hood. After a while, I got to thinking, "What about my ancient ancestors"? What I came to find out was book after book of reports of my ancient culture. "These were the Aztecs, and the Mayans, and the Europeans came and destroyed it all." Again, book after book after book. So, I decided to write an adventure story of my own: A Mexica Tale! A crew it tasked to find a terroristic militia, whose hit and run tactics destroy the morale of the Aztec Empire. It's a $7 e-novel. Hope you enjoy it!

The girl in the white room

No one noticed her dying inside for as long as she could remember. She just wanted one person to tell her everything will be ok. All she wanted was a break. A break from taking care of everyone around her. A break from trying to make her parents proud. A break from life… She was so scared, so lonely. Everyone always saw her as this angry, sad, little girl. But no one could ask her why she felt this way. Her anger, a way to cover up her hurt, her fear, her problems. Her sadness, a way to show people that she wasn’t ok. She wanted to disappear for a while. Maybe forever.

"Key-Kee!" Nadine echoed, her tiny hands gripping the floor as she crawled forward, her voice bubbling with excitement. "No, it is Kit-Ty," Harold corrected, shaking his head. "She says it wrong. She is still a baby," Elise said gently. "Meow, meow… meowww," Nadine mimicked the family cat, her tiny frame wiggling like a kitten in play. Eli dropped to his hands and knees beside her. "Meowww!" he exaggerated, scrunching his nose and wiggling his fingers like whiskers. "Ugh, this is ridiculous," Harold groaned. As Nadine moved, the soft fur of her costume brushed against her arms, keeping her warm against the cool fall air. She did not know it yet, but this was something she would carry forever. Her orange-striped costume tail flicked behind her. It was her first Halloween, the night she would start transforming into something more. Later, as shadows stretched across the walls, she whispered her first sign of something greater. "Here, Key-Kee."

It wasn’t time. Not yet."

The fix to plastic pollution

Hey everyone! Let’s talk real quick about something that affects all of us—plastic pollution. It’s getting out of hand, but the good news is, we can do something about it. One simple way to start is cutting back on single-use plastics—stuff like plastic bags, bottles, and straws. Switching to reusable things makes a big difference. We also need better recycling systems and support from companies and governments to make real change. And honestly, just spreading the word helps. If more people understood how bad plastic is for our planet and our health, we’d see more action. So let’s keep pushing for a cleaner future, one small step at a time!

Released in 1982, Blade Runner has solidified itself as one of the most influential films in the sci-fi genre. Inspired by Philip K. Dick's novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the film challenges the audience with timeless questions about what it means to be human.
