He had never seen a telephone booth before. To him, it was a relic from his parents' generation, a strange little building people once needed just to make a phone call. So when he finally encounters one while on vacation, naturally he climbs inside for a picture. But when the door closes and opens again, his family is gone, a lonely diner waits beside an unfamiliar road, and getting home may require far more than simply picking up the phone.
