Intersectionality affects peoples lives everyday whether we notice it or not. Being judged and discriminated on is seen as so normal, that we forget how wrong it is. Sometimes we don't even see the wrong in some people's actions. That is why intersectionality is now taught in schools so that more people are aware of what is going on in our world .
The new year started with the exciting news that actor-phenom Timothée Chalamet will play folk icon Bob Dylan in a biopic directed by James Mangold. The film supposedly will focus on Dylan’s transition from folk to rock music.
I will be the first to admit that I have not seen the most movies about journalism, especially ones made before the 21st century. However, it is without doubt one of my favorite genres to watch, especially when done well. Well-crafted dialogue, a sharp attention to detail and charming characters are hallmarks of the genre.
"If you're interested in understanding the Trump-Russia findings, ignore what Barr wrote," says Virginia Heffernan. Instead, she says, watch the speech Rep. Adam Schiff delivered before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday. "There was none of Barr's fuzziness or torque in what Schiff said. He didn't hypothesize," she writes. "He didn't speculate. He just laid it all out."
Seth Hettena of the Los Angeles Times reminds Americans that they need no report to be aware that the all-too public words, actions and behaviors of the 45th U.S. president have been suspicious, damaging and, in many cases, "a national security nightmare."
Have you ever heard of "agape"? Agape means the most highest form of love that is unconditional. This is known to be only how God and Jesus loves us. As humans we want to love unconditionally, but it's harder than expected just because of our nature. When someone betrays us, we don't want to love them anymore because "they don't deserve it". Does that truly matter though? And wouldn't you love to be surrounded by agape? If so, lean to God and He will show you agape love persistently.
These were my four favorite Best Picture nominees. Having just watched the Oscars, I could not be happier that "Parasite" won for best picture. It was one of the most intelligent, well-rounded movies of the year, and I am glad Bong Joon Ho finally got an Oscar as well for Best Director.
Incoming Democratic leaders of the House Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Raul M. Grijalva of Arizona and Rep. Alan Lowenthal of California, highlight an environmental report by the U.S. Geological Survey that concluded public lands are responsible for nearly a quarter of all U.S. carbon dioxide emissions. Noting the Trump administration's enthusiastic endorsement of coal mining and oil and gas drilling on public lands, they vow to explore better options, especially in light of another report, mandated by Congress, that gave new urgency to expected impacts of climate change on people's health, their homes, and the overall U.S. economy. "Our parks, forests, oceans, and wild, open spaces shouldn't be used to make our climate crisis worse," say the lawmakers, endorsing the transition to sustainable use of the nation's considerable renewable resources.
Psalms of lament and anger expresses how these feelings aren't evil and wrong. These feelings of anger is normal and acceptable because of the circumstances we go through in life. What's important though is not letting in the people who don't let you express these feelings and push you to blow your emotions up even more. Tend to the ones who let you feel the way you feel and guide you into the right directions, such as your close ones and God Himself.
Forgiving can be a hard challenge to succeed. Not a lot of people know but forgiving someone releases your bad energy you had towards the other person. Prayer as well helps soothe you during a tough situation, such as being in a relationship. Of course every couple goes through bumps in the roads, but there is a different between a few bumps in the road and if someone is right for you or not. To go into the right direction though, communicate and listen to God. He will show you the way if you only listen.
Have you made a resolution yet for the New Year? Have they ever gone according to your plan? If not, it's okay. You're not alone. There are many ways you can achieve your goals, but the best and most successful way is by following God through it all. To let Him in so he can guide you and give you strength to achieve your resolution goal. But, be aware and be accountable on the actions you take on, such as being in a relationship. Always guard your heart...
