Phone call

Chapter 1

Oakley just moved into a new city that she had never seen before or even been to. The city was called New Hoben. She was used to this. It wasn’t the first time she's had to move unexpectedly. The last time this happened was 4 months ago. She had finally started to fit in at her school before her father told her they were moving again. She didn’t complain; she knew it would happen sooner or later. She went up to her room and started packing her things. All of a sudden, her home phone that was attached to the wall rang. She looked at it expecting it to be her friend, Kiya. But instead of it being someone she knew it was a random number. She picked it up, unknown of who it was. The voice sounded familiar but she still didn’t know who it was. The person said “we finally found you bunny”. She hung up on edge. She had gone down stairs to tell her father what had happened. Her father asked what he called you? She said, “he called me bunny”. Her father replied, “get your things fast and get in the car now!”.

She was skeptical but did as she was told. Hurrying and packing her things as fast as she could. She finished and got in the car. Her father started the car and sped out the driveway. Her father turned on the radio. A reporter came on the speaker. “We have finally found the missing child Oakley Parks, who was tracked just this morning. After her biological father had gotten ahold of her. And I quote “ We finally found you bunny.”. Her father turned off the radio. Oakley looked at the man and said “ who are you?”. He turned to Oakely and said, “ You can call me dad.”

Silence

Chapter 2

Oakley looked at the floor. She was pale and terrified, not knowing what this man who she had called dad her whole life was going to do. She knew him but didn’t know his intentions. She reluctantly, afraid to speak, asked where they were going. Her “father” said to his job. Now that Oakley had thought about it she never knew what her father did for a job. She asked what his job was. He said “You don’t need to know”. Those words made her even more terrified. She sat in the seat quietly afraid to make another peep. A few minutes later her dad asked if she wanted to listen to music. She nodded trying to make sure she stayed on his good side. He turned on his phone and plugged in the aux. She was hoping it would be on the radio instead hoping to get more information on her bio dad.

But he played the music on his phone instead. She looked terrified at the scene where he played a horror song. She never really liked scary music. He knew that but never took it into consideration. She asked if she could play something instead. But instead of letting her play a good song he just looked at her with a devil's stare. She went back to looking at the floor and staying silent trying to ignore the terrifying music playing.

Soon they had arrived at the job site although it looked as if it had been abandoned for over a decade. He told her to get out of the car and get her things while he got his. She did as she was instructed to do. She debated whether she should try to drive away while he was distracted on his phone. The keys were still in the ignition. She quietly hopped into the driver's seat unnoticed. She locked the doors and turned the key. The sound of the car starting caught her fathers attention. He tried to open the door but it was locked. She quickly pushed the gas pedal. She was thankful she knew how to drive because it was like an obstacle course in that parking lot. She had looked in the rear view mirror to see the man running after her with a metal shovel. She was terrified knowing if she got caught things wouldn’t end well for her.

Stranded

Chapter 3

It had been one week since she had escaped. She had no phone to call for help. She had no one to go to. She realised she needed to find a safe place to stay although she had lots of money in the glove box. This was because her father or who she called father left that money for an emergency. And in this case it was. She decided to stop at a local store. She had gone in and came out with all necessary supplies to last for a few days. She decided to live in the car till she could find help. She had rummaged through the car to see if there was anything useful to use. She had found a safe. She opened it and found a gun. Specifically a hand pistol. She had seen a whole box of bullets. She agreed to use them in case of a serious emergency. She had also found an emergency safety kit. Luckily she had known an alley way she could stay in.

She started making her way to the alley way. She turned on the radio. Another announcement came on. “ The 16 year old Oakley has been contacted but we are unaware of her wear-a-bouts” She sat there in tears, realizing she had been kidnapped for a whole decade and a half. The faint sound of police cars were heard in the distance. She looked up in anticipation, hoping to hear more sirens. Then, she heard it again. She got out and screamed for help. She all of a sudden heard a growl from behind. She turned to see a walking person. She asked if the person was okay. They didn’t respond. Then the person started running towards her. Scared she ran to her car. She locked the door, just as the person pounded on the window. She didn’t know what to do. She thought it could have been an escaped mental person. All of a sudden she looked around realizing her life was about to take a drastic turn.

Alone

Chapter 4

Oakley ended up falling asleep, but when she woke up she was confused and scared. She looked around to see if that thing was there still. She didn't see it around but for some reason she still heard growling. She looked around the car for her keys. She found the keys on the ground of the car floor. She started the car, turning on the radio. She was confused because the only thing on the radio was static like noises. She thought it was something with the car. She wanted to get out and check but she was too scared to.

She hopped into the back seat and folded down the seats to make her temporary home. After she had finished she hopped back up front and put the car in drive. She realized she was going to need way more supplies. She drove to the same store she went to before. She grabbed the gun just to be safe. But as soon as she got to the doors she realized that they were locked. She had no choice but to break the glass doors. As soon as she got in she hurried to gutter the shelves. As soon as she was done, she loaded the car and drove off. She tried to turn the radio back on but there was still nothing coming through.

She needed an actual place to stay but she couldn't think of anywhere to go. She maybe could've gone into a motel. But she didn't have a lot of money. She still had no contact with anyone. She decided to drive to the police station. As soon as she pulled up she saw lots and lots of people just walking around. She wanted to get out but something didn't feel right. She looked down and started to cry. She looked up and now everyone of the people standing had turned to her. She looked pale and terrified. All of a sudden they charged at her. She put the car in reverse. And just before she drove she looked into one of their eyes. And she realized, their eyes were gone.

Help

Chapter 5

She drove to a secluded spot as she processed what was happening. Could it be that the world was ending? Her heart rate increased. She felt as though she was having a panic attack. She didn't know what she was going to do. She thought she should go to a random house. But she did not know anyone. She decided to drive around looking for a home to go to. She had seen a house that had a treehouse in the back. She thought it was perfect. She parked the car and hopped the fence to get to the treehouse. She got up there and loaded all her stuff into the treehouse. She ended up falling asleep. But what will happen next? Find out in the next book.
