Mr Fluffington caught on fire at the ice plant in Golconda Illinois. Mr. Fluffington, a pet bunny, belonging to Regina George narrowly escaped death. Mrs. George, living at 24 Rocky Mountain Drive, let Mr. Fluffington out for his usual morning stroll on Monday, August 5th. Mrs George went back into the house for coffee. Phillip Smith, Mrs. George’s next door neighbor, and second grade student at Golconda Elementary saw Mr. Fluffington chasing a butterfly down the road away from the house. At 8:15 a.m. Captain Joe John Roberts, the owner of the Shivering Timbers ice plant, located at 118 Bowls Drive witnessed Mr. Fluffington hopping through the main door. At 8:30 a.m. Captain Roberts attempted to chase Mr. Fluffington out of the ice plant. As Mr. Fluffington was hopping through the ice plant, one of the conveyor belts moving the ice blocks to the delivery trucks snapped! Sparks started flying down from the broken belt and caught Mr. Fluffington’s cottontail on fire. Captain Roberts was hot on Mr. Fluffington’s tail. Captain Roberts, a big burly man, chased after tiny flaming Fluffington. All Fluffington could see from the smoke was a tall shadow. Mr. Fluffington hopped under the desk causing Captain Roberts to fall as he attempted to capture Fluffington. Fluffington hopped over a conveyor belt causing Captain Roberts to trip as the rising smoke was too thick for anyone to see the chase. After regaining his footing Captain Roberts continued the chase after Fluffington. Quickly gaining on Fluffington, Captain Roberts finally trapped him under a waste basket.

With quick thinking Captain Roberts took an icepick and cut a slab of ice from the melting blocks. Captain Roberts used the tongs and slid the slab under the edge of the waste basket. As the ice extinguished Mr. Fluffington’s smoking tail, he attempted to headbutt the waste basket to get free. Having sHaving survived with a burnt tail Mr. Fluffington was taken back to Mrs. George. Mrs. George upon seeing the damaged bunny rejected him and turned her back on himon him. Seeing the defeat in Fluffington’’s eyes, Captain Roberts befriended him and gave him a loving home. With a loving home and a human friend Mr. Fluffington became the Shivering Timbers bunny ambassador and door greeter.
