There was a time when industrial design meant physical objects. Cars. Televisions. Cameras. Furniture. Appliances. Designers worried about materials, proportions, ergonomics, manufacturing tolerances, and the relationship between humans and physical objects. Then computers arrived and introduced an entirely different design environment.
