Emris Artair
Emris is a life-long fiction writer, essayist, and writing consultant who is passionate about finding stories in the mundane and, in her fiction, celebrating the mundane in the strange.
She read her first book at the age of five and wrote her first book at the age of nine (though to be fair, it was closer to a book report in length). Ever since, she’s been an avid writer and storyteller. From the very beginning, her narratives have focused on self-determination, identity, and found family. Friendship is magic is her favorite trope.
Today, she lives in Baltimore with her husband Chris, their three cats Cookie, Morty, and Smudge, and their golden doodle Finny. When she isn’t writing, she’s helping high school students craft meaningful college essays and personal narratives.
