Madeline R Jarboe
Madeline Jarboe is an autistic, transgender/nonbinary writer, artist, and musician. She lives near Tucson, AZ. Madeline draws from her varied experiences as a disabled and trans person as well as her diverse work history in the fields of economics, psycholinguistics, music, publishing, graphic design, mental health, disability advocacy, education, and assistive technology. Madeline holds dual Bachelors in Psychology and Linguistics as well as a Masters in Special Education from the University of Arizona.
Madeline wrote the title story in a collection of flash fiction called Underneath the Stairs, published in 2011 and edited by Lisa Keele. A chapbook of poetry, entitled Dearest Satellite, was released in early 2017. Her work has appeared in several online periodicals including the popular lesbian news/entertainment site Autostraddle. Madeline has also worked extensively with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network communications team to provide resources for the Autism Community.
She serves as the secretary on the Arizona Theatre Matters board, where she has the honor of supporting the group in its mission of creating quality theater that is accessible to all.
