My time on earth came to be in a big city named Anchorage in a little bitty state named Alaska. I was born to Joel Patrick Garrett and Linda Kay Garrett on Elmendorf Air Force base on September 20,1974. I was there second of three children. We lived in Alaska for two years than went to the sunny beaches of California where we lived until I was five. My father got discharged from the Air Force so that he could work for his Uncle in the oil production business. So we moved to a little place in east Texas named Normangee. So we were living on the family land which was 750 acres talk about a back yard. AT this point in life my dad was my superhero teaching me how to hunt and fish. He was my tee ball coach and really I couldn't have been happier in life we stayed on the farm for about three years and we moved around Texas for a little while until we settled down in Spring Texas. This is the beginning of the end of the superhero known as my father. He got out of the oil field and into sales. He was selling mobile homes and before you knew it he staying out after work drinking and starting to become the villain in my story. When my mother left my father things got hard first we lost electricity and seeing my mom get up at four thirty in the morning to boil water on a Coleman stove so that she could give her three boys a hot bath before school. I understood at that point life was going to be different. We lost are house and had to move to a smaller house. It is in this house that I had way to much freedom from parental supervision because my poor Mother is trying to raise three boys on her own. My father was a two time a year dad with no child support payments being sent to my mother. So at this point I am about ten years old and starting to hang out with kids a couple years older than me and I really start smoking pot at this age. There are a couple of reasons first I was given a joint by my dad when I was 7 or 8 and we were still living on the farm. Second my mom always had a stash under her bed, so it was always available. Last but not least how do you get to hang out with the older local garage band? Well hell that's easy you still some of your mothers stash and smoke out the band. So we lived in Fox Run for about three years and when i was eleven we moved to Briarcrest apartments and this my friends is where my life took a turn for the worse. Lets just say from this point it has been a heck of a ride most of it behind bars and full of tails of addiction, prison, and struggle. There was a return to Alaska where I became homeless at the age of fifteen after being kicked out the state of Texas at the age of fourteen for break in and entry with attempted murder charges stemming from robbing me and my forty two year old girlfriend. I finally couldn't take it and turned myself into the juvenile authorities got a hold of my mother and told if she had one ounce of love for me she would help me get back to Texas. There was the birth of my son in 1995 at age twenty one and lots of wild and crazy experiences and yarns to tell about drugs, money, prison, and then salvation and love. That will bring us to where I am today at the age of fifty trying to learn how to become an adult, entreprenuer, and i want to give back to the community by way of helping troubled teens that are coming where I came from. I want to show them with a little hard work and leaning how to clear some of data that a reboot is possible and there is help and programs and people who don't even know you that want to help other human being just because they are human beings not for anything else other than to genuinely try to make your life better. So at fifty I got a lot I need to do. So my first step towards entreprenurship has begun it is a little candle business called Light My Path. I am hoping to have it fully operational soon I am currently working getting the website built. so stay tuned for updates. So I got released from my jast stint in prison in October of 2023. Since my release I have published a book of poetry and one on how to make colorful card creations a book of five different style of cards included in the book m is artwork, poetry, as well as positive affermations at the end of each chapter. I am going to college and yeah at fifty i can honestly I love who I am as a human being.
