"Hello dear, long time no see." He looked up and saw her, the one he'd been waiting to see for years, his beloved wife. He immideatly puts down his phone and jumps off the bench to give her a tight embrace. "I missed you." He said with tears filling his eyes. "I miss you too, love," She replied, hugging him back but only for a few seconds. "Ray," she said pulling away from their embrace, "You need to let go."

"What do you mean? Oh! Are you embarrassed because we're in public? That's okay, we can go home!" He said with a bright smile. However, she grabbed his hand and stood still, not allowing him to take a step further.

"Love?"

"You know what I mean." She said sadly.

"No. No! You're right here in front of me. That-that was just a nightmare-!" He said worriedly as he turned to look at her, but when his eyes met hers, he knew he was just lying to himself and his eyes started to well up.

"Ray." She repeats, her voice filled with soft compassion.

"I. I don't want to. I can't leave you again! And if I have to, can't you come with me?" He said, pleading. To this, she laughs softly, tears now forming in her eyes.

"You know that's not possible. Now. Go on. Our family's waiting for you. You don't want to leave them alone now, do you?" She said, lifting an eyebrow teasingly.

"If you can't come with me, will I ever be able to see you again?" He said, worried they may never meet again.

"Hmm, maybe if you miss me enough, you'll see me in your sleep!" She said with a calming smile.

"Then I know I'll see you again." He says, watching as her smile reaches her eyes at her response.

"Well, if you know you're gonna see me again, then, you have nothing to worry about. Now, get going and stop making your siblings and our kids worry! You better take good care of them or else I'll go down there and bring you here myself!"

"Haha, don't worry. I'm taking care of them."

"With NO favorites."

"With no favorites." He repeats with a laugh.

"I love you." She says, her voice only a whisper.

"I love you too, sweetheart." He says while leaning in and they share a soft kiss. But now it was time for him to leave with the only other word they shared being 'Goodbye.'

When he opens his eyes, he's blinded by a beam of light that seems to be coming from a window. when his eyes finally adjust to the sudden brightness he sees his sister, brother, and the two kids he promised her he'd care for all surrounding the hospital bed he was in, shout his name. His siblings calling him 'Ray' and his kids calling him Dad. But he just looks out the window, toward the the sky, and smiles, knowing he'll see her again, and one day join her in the afterlife. Just not right now. Now, he has too many people they love here to leave now.
