Life as a kid in the 80's was simple besides mine, but the normal was quite normal and the latter was traumatic to be mentioned later or within the books shared online... LADY CC DIARY

Memories are magic... Making boats and sending them down the drain during the rainy seasons with all of my other unwanted toys to spare as it was sooooo much fun... Down went the balls and wrinkled balls of paper, Barbies brushes and extra shoes, food for my toy puppy, stickers, cars, cards, folded paper boats, and my real one... then I cried.

My toy phone with the eyeballs that wiggled when you pull the string and the phone base sat on wheels with the ringing sound as you pull it... Don Don was my dolls name, but my uncle maybe joked after I cut his hair that he's the Don or maybe I was trying to say Don't Don't touch my doll. I turned him into a boy so you would not touch him as I also thought I had a choice and would be a boy. The ugly Cabbage Patch dolls and the cute ones were the plastic doll headed toys with the cloth bodies and cute outfits and yarn hair at the time, and Barbie was always laying in piles of other Barbies getting her makeup attached to the others faces after mad love making and fights where their heads seemed to always be together and smushing each others make up and eyes onto each other and off of themselves.

Falling was also part of the days with skateboards mini with fast wheels and fiber glass, tricycles with horns and streamers or the kick stands and extra tires for training. The scooter was a quick return after the first injury and we were still wondering where it went and who could have stole it...

More falls with the non stopping rollerblades where we all stopped by slamming into a wall or grabbing a fence to brake until we learned how to scoot sideways and ruin all of our right wheels from stopping like ice skaters.

Future injuries promised after feelings hurt from losing games like pink elephants where we threw a ball at each others asses and you are out if it hits you as you are posted on the wall, or red Rover when we run through each others arms and break through or break one to get to the other side.

First was the double jumping or one jump jump rope, and we all fought to play together, then the skip it with numbers on it as it counted and the winners used to hog it until it reset after 999. P.O.G.S. were also a way to get our parents words into school as we got the game banned for feelings displayed and the gambling sense the teachers got as we changed the game to play for keepsies and the teachers were argumentive with the parents who also were playing with us and their friends and buying the $5-20 slammers. When we started playing slammers for keeps the parents agreed that gambling shouldn't be allowed at the school and we all had our prizes and hard earned POGS taken away for keepsies. Did you get yours back? I still can't find mine.

MOVIES... Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Star Trek, Fredy Krueger, Pee Wee Herman, and shows like Mr Rogers, Bill Cosby, Family Matters, Full House, Bewitched, Clarissa Explains it all, Doug, Rugrats, Kenan and Kel, Sister Sister, Will on Fresh Prince of Belair, and Punky Brewster or Small Wonder were on with Clarissa Explains it all and Bevis and Butthead later or I Love Lucy forever even at Nick at Night. 90s were awesome like the 80's and they still played Red Red Wine on the radio until a few years ago and now it seems less.

I guess they were right when they say fun is a requirement of life.
