A Universal Negative Wearing a Lab Coat What a comment thread about evolution taught me about a rule everybody wants to apply to somebody else A workshop I'm running this month is built around one tool: a five-question test. What is observed. What is inferred. What assumptions enter the argument. Is the proposed cause sufficient. What would falsify the claim. I built it to stop people from treating a worldview like a lab reading. I did not expect the clearest violation of my own rule to show up in the comment thread before the workshop even started.

Modernity did not abolish worship. It moved the furniture. St. Boniface did not debate Thor into retirement. Around 723, near Geismar, he put an axe into Donar's Oak and waited. Willibald's Vita Bonifatii is the source. The crowd expected the god to answer. The tree came down. Timber from the shrine went into a chapel. The method is older than the saint: make the claimed god defend his own ground in public.

welcome to week 3! if anyone has advice on how to make friends in college, i'm all ears. i messed up a wee bit-and it's sad yet funny-whoops. i love stealing produce from the dining hall!

Sixty years ago, Star Trek began a journey I wasn't there to witness. I inherited it later, through reruns and a house full of nerds who had already fallen in love with the Enterprise. Only years later, after becoming a writer myself, did I understand what those 79 episodes had really given me. Beneath the aliens, cardboard rocks, strange new worlds, and occasional space hippies were writers willing to wrestle with racism, gender, power, faith, fascism, artificial intelligence, and what humanity might become. Star Trek didn't just give me a future to imagine. It gave me permission to ask, “What if?” 🖖

Making a woman love and trust you via text isn’t about using "pickup lines" or manipulation tactics. It’s about emotional intelligence.

A song I wrote the lyrics to back in 1992, and made into a song this year! An original by Jewels-Gold called: who Turned Out The Lights? It's a political song of awareness wrapped in a blues style jazz! The lyrics: There's chaos in the world of haste Running rampant in your face taking everything for granted s Chopping down the trees I've planted Side effects for every action Selfish needful satisfaction Surfing in a world wide web With tides of info through your head A super info highway hell Where traffic jams are now for sale And people buy them anyway i It feeds the fire we obey Teaching us to be resolved And counting life to be evolved a Then we vote away our rights And wonder who turned out the lights? oh yeah this is how it goes

A romantic funk song that's as quirky as any real relationship! This original song was written and produced by me, Jewels-Gold, and first released right here! August 2026.

PrizePlay has finally come to a close and I'm beyond devastated about it because it was one of those money-making apps that didn't require you to do much in order to earn/win.
