Entrapment is an affirmative legal defense claiming law enforcement induced an otherwise innocent person to commit a crime they had no predisposition to commit. It requires proving government agents originated the criminal design and pressured the defendant, rather than just providing the opportunity.

What is NOT Entrapment: Merely providing an opportunity, undercover sting operations, lying about identity, or using decoys is legal, provided they do not cross the line into coercion.

Entrapment laws are inconducive between the explanation to what IS and IS NOT entrapment. The definition states that law enforcement seducing an otherwise innocent person into doing something illegal qualifies. I watched a few episodes of True Blue with Chris Hanson and noted that the ads that these individuals answered had stated initially that the alleged victim was of legal age. Then, sometime during the chat the undercover chatter reveals that the person that the UNSUB is chatting with is really underage, usually 14 or 15. This is where the legality divides. The law clearly contradicts itself. Now, don't get me wrong here. I think pedophiles should be locked under the jail with little food or water, but nevertheless, the law is confusing. A good lawyer could easily get one of these kiddie diddlers right off the hook. Even after being detained, Chris Hanson convinces (compels) them to give testimony on camera. He has episode after episode of these people and in them you can clearly see them being placed under arrest, not read their rights, and then what would appear to be coerced into giving damning testimony. No person should be knowingly going after a child for sexual purposes. You're talking about ruining a child's life forever. Oftentimes, the undercover even poses as the child's foster parent pimping them out. Which the UNSUB'S are typically fine with. But what remains the same is that they answered to an ad for an of-age person willing to hook up. During the chat the person in question is informed that the individual they are talking to is in fact NOT of age and the game is to get them to be okay with that in one way or another. So in court the argument of "I thought it was just a role-play thing" can actually hold up. The non-consented testimony given under extreme duress can also be stricken from the record. I only speak on this because the issue is delicate. One wrong move and these sick bastards walk free. To all the streamers out there busting "PDFiles" by catching up with them and beating them mercilessly on your live-streams I say BRAVO!!! But do what you're doing carefully because the law is the law. These pricks could end up walking free because of you. The way to go about it is simple, don't intervene anymore than you have to, alert the local police immediately of your presence in their community and when they show up, just film the arrest and request the interrogation video. It is terrible what a fine line it is, but there are steps that everyone can take to make sure these pieces of trash get the full beating they deserve during a long stay in one of our great state penitentiaries.
