Breakfast: What is on my menu
Let's talk breakfast.
Different countries have different kinds of breakfast, from savory fish, to extremely sweet crepes. Everyone likes different things.
Personally, I am used to a sweet breakfast. Pancakes or waffles with sweet syrup, and occasionally even whipped cream. I do enjoy meats with my breakfast when I can. Bacon and breakfast sausage are the most common meats I eat when I have the chance. But being honest, I also like to dip both in syrup.
Speaking of bacon and sausage, I occasionally have egg sandwiches. Those sandwiches include, bread (either toasted sandwich bread, or toasted English muffins), an egg with the yolk cooked through, ketchup, bacon or sausage (occasionally both), and cheese. While writing this, I am thinking on how lettuce would also be good on an egg sandwich. Almost like a BLT just without the tomato (I don't like tomato).
Another food that is commonly on my breakfast menu, is French Toast! I love French toast, but I do not know if it actually comes from France or not. When I make French toast, I mix milk, egg, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl, and then dip m bead into the mixture. Now that alone is not too sweet, it is what I put on top that is sweet. Syrup, brown sugar, sometimes even whipped cream. I know that a lot of people and restaurants put powdered sugar on top.
Lets get into the easy breakfast foods. Cereal, oatmeal, and the variety of toaster foods also make up my breakfast menu. I do like most cereals, some of the super sweet ones, and occasionally some of the healthier ones. My favorite flavors of oatmeal are the brown sugar and maple, raisins and spice, and the apple cinnamon. I like my oatmeal to be thicker, the texture almost similar to a paste. Now when I mention toaster foods, I mean things like frozen waffles, or toaster strudels, heck even pop tarts. Frozen waffles are nothing to sing about, they all taste the same, I do prefer the blueberry ones over the regular ones though. Toaster strudels are heckin good, but I think that its mostly because I like strudels/turnovers. Now, pop tarts, they don't have to be toasted, but I still like them either way. The strawberry ones are the best in my opinion.
Now, I think growing up in North America heavily influenced my choice of breakfast foods. When I visited Germany, back in 2019, they had more meats for breakfast. It was similar to making lunch sandwiches for breakfast. Not that it is like bad, just different.
If I had grown up else, i know that the amount of sugary foods we consume for breakfast in North America would surprise me. Just like if I travel to countries in Asia, the food they typically eat for breakfast would be very different from what I am used to.
All this being said, I don't typically eat breakfast. I am not usually hungry until closer to noon. So most of the time, breakfast and lunch foods are the same for me. Lunch foods will be for next time though, so this will be all until then!
