Slaughterhouse Five is a mix of a a time travel movie and war film where a former American POW in WW2 named Billy Pilgrim moves jaggedly and abruptly through time- past and future and back again and again. What director George Roy Hill and writer Stephen Geller have fashioned from author Kurt Vonnegut's novel is really an anti-war film disguised as slight sci-fi time travel picture and an at times, grim and powerful critique of World War Two and wars in general primarily through its Dresden sequences.
