Everyday, it comes home.

It lays its plastered smile back in the drawer and sits in the same rickety chair.

A singular chair that sits in the center of a dirty, old room.

The windows are stained forever grey that let in a pale shade of light.

There's dust all over the floors, the wallpaper is tearing from the wall.

There it sits with the weight of a thousand problems.

And there it rocks until the dawn arises.

Once the bright orange sunlight peers through the dirty windows, up it rises.

It slinks back to the drawer and picks out a mask for the day.

On the mask goes, and only then does a smile show.

It slips out of the door dragging its feel a long the way.

A boy approaches and says "I need help! My mother is terribly ill! I don't know what to think or how to feel!"

Up it looks from the ground to the boy whispering a soft response.

"You must love your mother until her last breath. If you don't you will be stuck in the eternal ward of regret."

The boy thanks it and off he goes.

It paces the streets for hours on end, people coming up to it to ask it questions..

It answers with a soft tone and a big smile.

A smile that cannot be taken off until it's reached the safety of behind the door.

Dusk is approaching, so it goes back up the hill.

It hides away in it's room behind that familiar closed door.

When it closes the door and the mask comes off is when it shows what it hides.

Underneath is a creature that just doesn't understand.

It helps everyone solve their problems, but no one wants to help it solve them.

It gives everyone hope and pulls them out of the darkness.

Even though with everyone it pulls out there's more weight it has to take on.

it gives everyone a chance to talk and be happy, but people still treat it very, very badly.

There stands a creature who's heart is broken into a million pieces.

It hurts and aches, but still it plasters a warm inviting smile on its face.

The creature sits and waits for someone to notice pieces are missing, but no one does.

So all it does it continue giving.

It gives and it gives until there is nothing left.

No one takes a second glance when it stops giving answers, and that makes it think that it doesn't matter.

It is a toy people have used again and again.

There it sits broken and abused, but don't worry because it's nothing new.

Now that there's nothing left to give , the creature has no reason left to live.

It climbs to the top, says its goodbyes, and closes its eyes.

Down it falls all the way to the bottom while everyone stands around it with caution.

They watch as it slowly fades away, struggling to stay awake.

Finally the creature doesn't have to live a life of pain.

It's done.

The end.

The creature is gone and it was right, no one misses it.

Finally, the creature has been withdrawn from this world and is able to relax.

Now the spirit of the creature still watches over the people.

"This is for the best." It says as it bows it's head, laying down silently to forever rest.
