My commentary - Assault on The Liberty
I am going to be brief because this book has raised questions in my mind that, if I speak to those questions and the impact this book has had on me, I would, I am afraid, lose control and not be able to remain calm. So, briefly, the attack on the USS Liberty was one of those incidents that, when revealed for what it really was, changed not only my perspective on the state of Israel and the Jewish community, but on world events as a historical whole since 1948 when Israel declared itself a sovereign state.
What is outlined in this book has been suppressed by our government for a good reason; it paints a true picture or what geopolitics really entails in terms of the power structures that are shaping our world and our perceptions. It is a book that should be read BY EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN, and it is a book that should be required reading in schools, colleges and universities.
That, briefly, is my take on the importance of this book. The story contained in it will never become obsolete or stale. It is a story that will endure as long as we are courageous enough to read it and understand what is taking place in the world.
