A long time ago when the earth was at peace, Merciful God sat on his throne in heaven. God was waiting, for he knew that at this moment in time his Arc-Angel would rise against him. When the Arc-Angel Dean burst into the room with his followers pronouncing himself the true God and that he could create things just as God could, God simply felt pity for the poor creature and banished him and his followers to a place devoid of his presence. This was the end of the peaceful era. 

The Arc-Angel Dean was given the disrespectful name of Satan, all of his followers and creations were named as Demons and monsters, and they all became enemies of God. The place which Satan was sent to dwell was named Hell, it was completely separated from God but not his creations. The Devil, in a bitter rage that quickly turned to a hatred of God, began creating many of his monsters These creatures were entirely different from the races of men and animals that God had created. Instead of being creatures of light, knowledge, and love they were creatures of Hate, Belligerence, and death. God who knew this would happen gave the races of man knowledge of advanced weapon crafting and the ability to cast spells and miracles to combat what horrors would eventually come for them. This is our world of Ashena or what is left of it.

 It took no time for the demonic hordes to push the races of men back into a corner of the world but like an animal with no choices left the races of men fought for the preservation of man and our God. The confederation of man was formed and now we only control approximately fifteen percent of Ashena’s usable land and we are constantly at war with the demon hordes. This war has been going on for two hundred and fifty years.

The Confederation of man’s territory is split into four provinces with multiple sets of walls cutting across vast amounts of terrain. The north west province is the home to the majority of the noble families and their servants, peasants, and retainers. The north west province is surrounded by water on two sides and friendly territory on the remaining sides making it the most removed from war and the easiest to defend. Subsequently the Fort where the war council that governs the laws and upholds the war effort is located in the north west province. 

The north east province is the most fortified province as it has a direct connection to the north west and would be the easiest way to break the Confederation in the shortest time possible as it's not very large. Most notable craftsmen reside in the north east province. The north east is also the home to the Lizar the most common species of dragon people (who are the forefront of the royal army due to a high birth rate capability) and the wood elves who closely resemble humans but are on average taller and have small distinguishing traits such as pointy ears and sharp teeth. 

The south west province is the second most heavily defended province. The south west province has the ocean on its western border, a high mountain pass on its south, and friendly territory on the remaining sides. The demon armies constantly try to pass through the mountains where the confederation is able to build a wall but refuse to surrender and build a wall at its base due to the high mineral and ore deposits. The south west is home to the race of Dwarves who resemble Humans but are shorter and typically heavy set and the Karn a species of wolf men. 

The south east is the most downtrodden and under-staffed of the provinces’. The south east is the only province known to have lost land and had to reclaim it since the formation of the confederation of man two hundred years ago. Every year just before winter the confederation sends an army of volunteering new recruits to the south east province knowing that most of them will die before winter is out. Those that survive winter are given positions in the north west province as proven veterans. Oftentimes the south east province is given the least promising of all newly recruited armies and replacement divisions. The south east is home to adventurers desperately trying to make enough money to be declared as nobles and those who can’t afford to live in the other provinces’, mainly Humans and Reiner, a species of Rabbit men.
