°ᡣ𐭩 . ° . SKIN TYPE: what is it, what’s yours, and why it’s important!

Your Skin Type: why you need it, what is it, etc.
When it comes to skin care, you should know what will and won’t work. It’s common for people to follow TikToks or Youtube videos about skin care and what’s needed. Do not do this, instead learn your skin type! A skin type is the type of skin you have. Obvious to most but not everyone understands it. There’s tons upon tons of skin types but the main five are Normal, Oily, Dry, Sensitive, and Combination. These skin types all have different characteristics and issues.
The five main skin types are all different and could be hard to understand. Oily skin is commonly shiny and breaksout often. People with this skin type normally have less visible wrinkles but visible and enlarged pores. Another thing, makeup may wear off easily. Blackheads and whiteheads are common for oily skin, particularly on the chin, forehead, and nose! Moving on, normal skin! Normal skin has a clear appearance and even color. It doesn’t feel tight or greasy and is soft and flexible if touched! Your pores would be small and less visible. Normal skin has good elasticity and moisture, along with being balanced out. Now, the dry skin type. Dry skin can feel rough, flaky, and itchy. It would feel tight and look dull. Basically everything you would think of when you hear “dry”. It’s not prone to keeping in moisture or staying hydrated. Up next is sensitive skin! Sensitive skin is harder to describe as it can display multiple different textures. It’s not the same as combination skin though! Sensitive skin is normally dry and flaky. Along with difficult and aggressive acne flares and redness. It inflames easily and can be irritated quickly. This skin type is commonly discolored. Finally, combination skin. It’s exactly what it sounds like; a combination of all skin types. In the T-zone, it’s normally oily. If you don’t know, the T-zone is your chin, nose, and forehead! Your cheeks would be dry or normal. Your pores would be bigger, especially in the T-zone.
Chances are, you want to glow up or have that gorgeous glass skin. I did too, for a long time, like a looong time. You could also be doing everything “right”. Skin care routine, less makeup, no junk food, etc. Like i said early, the list could most definitely go on forever. Somehow, it’s not working; despite doing everything right. Even if you’re not here because of this, you still need to know your skin type. Now, skin care is very important but spending thousands of dollars is NOT necessary or needed. Your skin type helps with this. If you know what you need to change or fix with your skin, then you won’t spend unnecessary money. Another thing, some products are damaging your skin instead of helping you, especially if it’s for a different skin type.
Now, skin care and skin procedures vary by skin type. BUT, some things can be used for all skin types. Sunscreen, sleep, and ice are the most trustworthy. Sunscreen is needed for everyone, no matter what the age is. All year around, sunscreen will protect your skin and keep it safe. Always use sunscreen, no matter what. Next up, sleep is necessary for everything in life. It helps your skin the most. Get Your Sleep, PLEASE!! Finally, ice every morning. Ice makes your face less puffy, clean, and wakes you up. I use ice every morning and it got rid of my acne. I definitely recommend using these three things every morning.
Your skin type means a lot and you should pay attention to it. This is a short and sweet sentence, but i man it seriously. Stop following TikToks and start learning your skin type. It saves money and time, which is a need in today’s society.
