Ultimate Seared Spiced Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps them sear better.

2. Season the Chicken:

In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.

Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast.

3. Heat the Pan:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

4. Sear the Chicken:

Place the chicken breasts in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until a deep golden brown crust forms and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning.

5. Rest the Chicken:

Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute and keeps the chicken moist.

6. Serve:

Slice the chicken and serve with lemon wedges for a fresh, zesty touch. Enjoy!

This recipe balances robust spices with the simplicity of searing, creating a delicious and flavorful chicken dish.
