This paper outlines a comprehensive integrative literature review focused on the applications of SWOT analysis across various fields, aiming to synthesize current knowledge, identify trends, and recommend directions for future research. SWOT analysis, a strategic planning tool identifying Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats, has been widely used in business and other sectors since its inception in the 1960s. Despite its popularity, there remains a significant gap in the literature regarding its application across different domains and the evolution of its methodologies in response to contemporary challenges. The primary objective of this literature review is to provide a systematic examination of how SWOT analysis is applied beyond its traditional business context, exploring its use in healthcare, education, environmental management, and more. By doing so, the review intends to uncover innovative applications, methodological variations, and sector-specific adaptations, thereby offering insights into the tool's flexibility and effectiveness in strategic planning processes.
