Nebraska Shows Up And Shows Out At Ohio State

Everyone wondered what kind of football team would show up at Ohio State this past Saturday. Would Cornhusker fans be treated to another blowout, or would the defense show up and keep it close for Husker fans? I thought it would be a blowout, but was surprised by the fight the Cornhuskers gave in a 21-17 loss at Ohio State.
The Blackshirts showed up and kept the Buckeyes offense below their averages in points and yards allowed. If you remove the two big pass players, the defense was outstanding throughout the game. I thought the defense would struggle against this offense, but they came to play football. Defensive coordinator Tony White had his guys ready to play some football and it showed on the field of play.
Matt Rhule had his team ready to play against one of the better teams in the country. I do not know what happened against Indiana last week, but this team played like they had something to prove. The real question is what team shows up this week against UCLA. With a win against the Bruins, the Cornhuskers would be bowl-eligible which they haven't been for a long time. I do hope if they do win they are not satisfied with just going to a bowl game. They should have aspirations for even greater goals for this program.
