Corbin Burnes Sitting In The Drivers Seat For The Brewers in 2024

Last season Corbin Burnes and the Milwaukee Brewers were not on the best of terms after the arbitration hearing, but 2024 could be another story for the Brewers ace. Burnes got paid this season to the tune of over 15 million dollars and looks to cement his legacy as the Brewers ace. Milwaukee had no real choice, but to pay Burnes. With Woodard being cut because of his shoulder surgery Burnes had to be paid and the Brewers knew it.
Many people thought Burnes would be moved and he still could be, but its more unlikely right now. Milwaukee wants to continue to make the playoffs and they need Burnes more than ever before. With Woodard gone Burnes becomes the ace of the staff. Freddy Peralta will be called upon a lot as well, but Burnes is more consistent right now.
Corbin Burnes knows how important this season is to him. If he wants to get a long-term contract from the Brewers or someone else, he must pitch lights out this season. I look for Burnes to be excellent this season and show people he is worth the money he wants as a starter. As Burnes goes this season so will the Milwaukee Brewers.
Will Burnes be with the Brewers all season? He could be traded depending on how Milwaukee plays. Around the all-star break if the Brewers are out of contention look for him to be moved. Milwaukee is not going to let him go and get nothing in return. Personally, I don't see the Brewers trading him as I think this team could surprise a lot of people this season.
