The case of Daniel Laplante
In 1986 at Pepperell, Massachussets, USA,
the Bowen family, (Frank the dad) (Tina 15), (Karen 9) was hearing strange noises in their house for months. Some noise was coming from the walls like shuffling noise. At first Frank thought the noise was in the girls's imagination but with time he started to hear it and saw things weren't in their places. Food was missing, objects were not at same place they were left.
The dad was opening the closet of their daughters to find a dirty adolescent (Daniel Laplante 15) hidden. The adolescent started wielding an hatchet towards Frank. Daniel instructed them to go into a bedroom. When the family was in the room, the dad successfully closed the door between his family and the dangerous adolescent. Tina jumped out the window (they were on the second floor), she ran to their neighbor's house to call the police.
This family survived this scary event because of the quick thinking of the dad. The police arrived to safely rescue Frank and Tina. The police saw on a wall, a written message from Daniel : '' I'M STILL HERE COME FIND ME ''. They used their dog , K9, to find the sent of the criminal. He was hidden in very small wall cavity in the bathroom. He was send to juvenile jail.
His story, a young boy who was developping an obssession over a classmate, Tina Bowen. At the start, they were just talking on the phone and he seemed respectable so Tina accepted a date with him. When he knocked at the door for their date, he was desheveled and not all was he described. She categorically refused to date him. He lost his mind. Daniel decided to go live in the Bowen family walls. He lived for at least a year in their walls. He ate their food, watched their TV and listened their conversations. The girls were sure the house was haunted and Daniel knew so he played the game. He moved small things an gradually moved bigger objects. He became greedy and that's why the dad started to see the signs too. They were conviced their home had ghosts.
He was PHROGGING (frogger), someone who lives in the home of someone else without their knowledge or consent. In my opinion this is one of the things that scares me the most. Having a stranger looking at you while you sleep, going through your things when you are away and can do anything without you even knowing. Many case of frogger are at first associated with a haunted house. If you suspect your house is haunted maybe verify that nobody lives in your walls, crawl space or attic.
