The Last Echo
The music fades, the record skips,
The coffee’s cold against my lips.
I thought we’d be the ones to stay,
But everything just slipped away.
The walls are bare, the room is quiet,
A hollow heart, a silent riot.
I tried to hold what we had then,
But time won't bring it back again.
I keep the ghosts, I keep the ache,
While watching every promise break.
The world goes on, it doesn't care,
I’m reaching out for empty air.
So here’s the truth, it’s pretty plain,
Nothing’s left but all this rain.
I guess that’s it, the story’s through.
We’re done. I’m over missing you
