" This Ain't Home"
They yell so loud the walls shake too.
Cursing at kids for nothing they do.
A sock on the floor, a laugh too loud,
And suddenly hits replace the sound.
No reasons ever good enough here.
We walk on silence, we walk on fear.
The bruises fade, the names still stay.
Etched in their hearts, like they were clay.
I try to be the shield, the calm in the storm,
But im just a kid too, trying to stay warm.
I hold them close when they shake at night.
Wishing my love could make things right.
They call this a home, but love don't live here.
Just broken glass and bottled up tears.
But we'll survive, scarred, but not gone.
And build a life where pain moves on.
But one day we'll leave this broken place.
With softer hands and a gentle face.
We'll build a home where love can grow.
No screaming, no hitting, just peace to know.
