Chapter 3: Step Two: Discover and Trust Your Voice

Discovering Your Voice
Your writer's voice isn’t just about the way you write—it’s about how you share your perspective. It’s shaped by your life, your emotions, and how you see the world. Finding your voice is about being true to yourself and expressing that truth clearly in your writing. It’s what makes your stories feel authentic. It’s the core of your writing; the part that makes your stories stand out and resonate with others.
At first, your voice may not seem fully formed. You may be copying others or not sure where you stand. This is normal. Like a singer finding their tone or a painter finding their brushstroke, discovering your voice takes time. You don't need to force it but must be open to it.
