This morning my child cried from their car seat, begging to be released and asking if we are there yet multiple times.

This prompted a discussion on how long it would take to get there and why.

Afterwards they asked why can’t we just go straight there and skip the important tasks like getting groceries, gassing the car up and other errands. I reasoned- If we skip the small but important tasks the journey wouldn’t be worth it.

God knows we want to get places faster than his timing. He doesn’t want us to skip the small but important tasks we are doing on the way. These seemingly insignificant things change who we are and make the journey worth the effort.

What have your kids taught you about God?
