My Car Accident
On June 1, 2025, I proudly graduated high school, looking forward to celebrating this milestone with my friends and family. My graduation party was planned for June 30, 2025, and on June 26, 2025, I went out with the driver of the car I was in to go swimming and shopping in preparation for the party. While we were stopped at a red light, waiting for it to turn green, our lives suddenly changed. As the light turned green and we began to move forward, a car fleeing from the police at approximately 130 miles per hour crashed into us.
The impact was devastating. I suffered a fractured nose, fractured cheekbone, a fracture to my L5 vertebrae in my lower back, and a fractured wrist that worsened into a full break. My wrist required surgery to realign the bone and the placement of a metal plate to stabilize it. I also needed stitches in multiple areas, including the corner of my eye, my eyelid, my eyebrow, my cheekbone, and my chin.
This accident has deeply affected me both physically and emotionally. Physically, I have endured pain, surgeries, and a long recovery process. Emotionally, the trauma of the crash and the challenges of healing have been overwhelming, especially during what was supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life. Instead of celebrating my accomplishments, I have had to focus on rebuilding my health and coping with the lasting effects of that d
ay.
