Becoming, Slowly
Becoming A Better Version Of Yourself Without Burning Out.
We're told that self-growth is all hustle, constant improvement, and pushing ourselves harder. But what if trying to "become better" actually leaves you exhausted and questioning yourself? I learned the hard way that growth doesn't have to cost your peace, be loud, fast or perfect.
For a long time, I pushed myself to adopt every "life-changing" habit I read about online: morning routines, journaling, exercise, affirmations... I tried it all at once. instead of feeling accomplished, I felt drained and discouraged.
It wasn't that I wasn't capable of growing. The problem was that I was forcing change too fast. Real growth happens slowly- in small, consistent steps that respect your energy and your limits.
Here's what I started doing instead;
-Focus on one habit at a time. instead of overloading my schedule, I chose one meaningful change each week.
-Honor rest. Growth isn't just actions; its reflection and recovery.
-Measure progress by how I feel, not how much I do. Calm, balanced moments matter more than checking off tasks.
-Celebrete small wins. Even tiny improvements are proof that slow growth works.
Becoming better doesn't have to be loud, fast or perfect. By slowing down and being intentional, I started to feel more in control of my life and more confident in my choices. Growth doesn't require burnout. It requires patience, gentleness and awareness.
If you're trying to grow but feel overwhelmed, remember this; you don't have to rush. Every small, deliberate step matters. You are becoming, slowly- and that is enough.!
