PRAY
PRAY
I remember it like yesterday
We hit it off the very first day
“An instant bond“, as they say
That’s when I started to pray
I didn’t know if they knew Him
Or experienced a new life through Him
Prayed that if they didn’t know Him
That I might be able to show them
God, help them to know and help them to see
Soften their heart so they can be free
What I would do to at last see the day
Coming to You; Finding their way
You came to church with me the first time
Anxious and scared of what you would find
Then the preacher walked out into the lights
And preached on anxiety; It blew your mind
We talked on the porch by the flowers
Unpacking the Gospel for hours
Jesus Christ taking on our sins
In exchange for His life, we get ours
God, help them to know and help them to see
Soften their heart so they can be free
What I would do to at last see the day
Coming to You; Finding their way
You tried and you tried to fill all of the holes from the hurt inside
But nothing could fill them no matter how much; It still left you dry
You were running with all of your might
Life they had known was a fight
All they had known was the night
Suddenly there came a Light
He filled them with newness of life…
Gave new sight
You helped them to know; You helped them to see
You softened their heart and now they are free
At last I have seen; At last I can say
They finally came to You, They found their way
