"To be Remembered" by Me
I want someone to remember me.
I want to be known and still to be loved.
I crave to be remembered with tenderness.
I want someone to remember me,
though it’s not for my hair,
my eyes, or my porcelain skin,
But for the love radiating off of my bones.
The sunlight you can feel through my touch,
My fingertips that graze and grasp all of the things I love.
My laugh that holds the wind when it is heard,
My voice, the one that makes you stop and look over your shoulder.
I want someone to remember me,
the way my lips shine in the light,
Or the way I scrunch my nose.
A moment in time to be noticed and loved,
The way that I love.
At least I remember.
I love coffee and muffins,
I love staying in on the couch,
I love movies,
I love how gentle I am with animals,
I love that I know myself better than anyone.
But for once,
I want someone to remember those things about me, too.
