To be a fish
It must be so simple to be a fish
Especially with a loving owner
And plenty of space
Not a worry in the world
No "how will I eat next?"
Or "do I have enough for rent this month?"
Ah, such is the simple life of a fish
They do nothing monetary for us
But we love and shower them with attention and gifts
My fish in particular is a lucky fellow
A whole five gallons for one little beta
He swims all day, eats his meals with my wife and I
And then sleeps after a day of swimming and living
Oh for life to be so simple
If only I could be just like him
Calm and peaceful, in my own personal pond
But I love him dearly, though sometimes I am envious,
Because he is my fish, and he needs me as much as I need him
