Milwaukee Bats Silent Again In 2-1 Loss To Cardinals
No matter how you cut it these games down the stretch really do matter a lot. Milwaukee has already made the playoffs, but you do not want to stumble into it. Right now Milwaukee is struggling after another loss to the Cardinals by a score of 2-1.
People have to be shaking their heads as the pitching staff all year has kept Milwaukee afloat. When Milwaukee gets a great pitching performance like Brandon Woodruff's 10 strikeouts and one run over six innings you need to back it with runs. Instead Milwaukee was shut out until the 8th inning when they finally scored.
Going into the postseason Milwaukee you cannot score one run and expect to win. Right now Milwaukee is not moving runners into scoring position or getting that clutch hit when you need it. If you cannot do the simple things in the game of baseball you aren't going very deep in the playoffs.
Yes, the Cardinals are riding a 10 game winning streak, but scoring just one run is not acceptable. Milwaukee needs to start doing the things winning baseball teams do. Right now it seems they are content with a playoff berth and now winning a division. The games are winding down and if they want to win the division they better start playing better baseball.
