NY Environmentalists: Plastic bag ban, budgeted funding are good but not enough
By Ali Hibbs Albany, N.Y. — Likely the most widely noticeable environmental measure enacted in the 2019-20 New York state budget will be the ban on single-use plastic bags used in grocery and convenience stores, requiring shoppers to invest in — and remember to bring — their own reusable shopping bags or use carry-out paper bags, on which municipalities will be allowed to charge a fee. The ban takes
