Gov. Cuomo's 9th 2020 proposal targets untaxed tobacco retailers
Albany, N.Y. — The ninth announced proposal that will be included in the governor’s 2020 State of the State agenda, which he will formally deliver on Jan. 8, would crack down on retailers that illegally sell untaxed cigarettes or other tobacco products in New York. Under the proposal, retailers who acquire untaxed cigarettes from other states and sell them illegally in New York could be shut down.
