Welcome to Ammontara

To be honest, this whole thing started as a grand idea to create a "Forever Minecraft World." I wanted to build a backstory, give the world a name, and just start. Now, I’m creating a YouTube channel based on this world, where my viewers are just as important as my builds. It is a community and a visual place where you can come to relax and feel seen, heard, and important. Everything from the world to the community is generated from a place of unconditional love, genuine kindness, and encouragement toward others. So, here is what I’ve accomplished for us so far.

The Beginning

Spawning into Ammontara, I landed in a small plains biome with a sandy beach and a large hill in the way. I terraformed the hill where I wanted to place a large courtyard light, and I set down my first crafting table just to mark the exact place where I started. I swam across the small channel to the large island, where I found a ruined Nether portal and worked to fix it for a time. However, I wasn't quite ready for the adventure into the chaos and darkness of the Nether to light the portal yet.

Close to the portal is a small village with a few game-generated builds. I have plans to make this area a great province in Ammontara someday by rebuilding the homes for the villagers and creating a bustling atmosphere where we can come together as a community to share good thoughts, ideas, and kindness. It will be a grand undertaking, but we’ve got this.

I swam back across to the island where I spawned and started an 8x8 field to grow crops. My first trade with a wandering trader provided me with a cactus to start a manual cactus farm. I decided it was time to look over the island to see what was there. I determined a spot for a bridge to connect the larger island and the smaller one, intending to make a road from one place to another, marking it with a dirt pillar on each side of its eventual location. To the north, I discovered a third small island. Instead of being a plains biome like the other two, this one was a savanna with acacia trees, armadillos, warm-variant animals, and even a llama. I collected an acacia log and some saplings before returning to my small camp on the medium-sized island.

Lumenmull

Another wandering trader came by, and for a trade of hay bales and baked potatoes, I was able to acquire a cherry tree sapling and start collecting my third wood type. After this, I decided it was time to get more established with an animal pen, and the first large build of the world was imagined. I envisioned a large building to house the cows and sheep I had been keeping tied up to a single oak fence post. A horse spawned nearby, and soon a proper horse stable was added to my vision.

In need of materials to start building, I dug a mine shaft with a stone pickaxe until I located the first level of bedrock. By this time, I had collected several stacks of cobblestone, andesite, cobbled deepslate, and tuff, along with a couple of partial stacks of diorite and granite. Most importantly, I found a little bit of iron ore. I went back to the surface and started smelting and organizing my items. I crafted an iron pickaxe so I could collect diamonds and redstone; once I had three diamonds, I could craft a diamond pickaxe to mine everything, but that could wait.

I had what I needed to complete the horse stable and the pen for the sheep and cows. I created six horse stalls and a second floor for storage and a place to rest. I decided to name this little starting island Lumenmull. Over the next few Minecraft days, I collected the materials to craft a book and quill so I could document the journey of the first 150 days—eventually to be locked away in a time capsule for a year so we can see how far we’ve come.

The Lighthouse of Lumenmull: Hope

After completing the horse stable, I decided it was time for the next large build of this growing world: a lighthouse. It is built with unconditional love and the intent to be a safe haven that illuminates our world even in the darkest of nights.

Going over the inventory in my storage chests, I decided the foundation of the lighthouse would be made of deepslate, tuff, and stone. Then I spotted another wandering trader. I wanted to see if he had anything I didn't have yet. I had eight emeralds, and he had a spruce tree sapling; I was sold. I also managed to acquire a mangrove sapling by making another trade for baked potatoes. Naturally, I started growing and collecting spruce logs, and the idea came to me: why not plant four spruce trees close together to create the framework for the front of the lighthouse?

I made some green dye by smelting the cactus I’d grown and used what wool blocks I had to outline the circular shape of the foundation. After some placing, picking up, and repositioning, I finally had the shape I had been searching for. It was time for the first walls to go up. I started with stone bricks, tuff bricks, deepslate bricks, and other varieties to build the base. I am naming this lighthouse structure Hope.

Exploration Break

I don’t exactly recall when I finally decided to be brave and light the Nether portal, but I did. I was fortunate enough to find a Piglin Bastion and acquired a bunch of cool loot for the time capsule. I was really excited to find string so I could finally craft a fishing pole, which is fantastic for obtaining enchanted books, experience orbs, and food. I grabbed some warped logs from the forest next to the bastion and got out of there before something happened and I lost everything I'd worked for.

Returning to the Overworld and Lumenmull, I put things away and deposited items into the time capsule, including two snout armor trims, three Netherite templates, and two Netherite scraps. Next, I wanted to explore the ocean. I found and befriended a nautilus with some pufferfish and equipped him with a saddle I acquired while fishing. Then, I set off into the deep blue.

Not far away, I found an Ocean Monument and raided it for prismarine blocks so I could build a conduit back at Lumenmull, ensuring that drowning would no longer be a concern. I also retrieved a few wet sponges. On the journey back, I filled my inventory with kelp to smelt into dried kelp blocks for a temporary fuel source. Eventually, I created a renewable lava resource with cauldrons—using lava is a lifesaver compared to coal and wood. Finally, I got a pumpkin seed and grew it so I could have a friend and helper. I placed the pumpkin on a copper block, used my shears, and the Copper Golem arrived! After later finding him on the beach, I decided it was best to use a lead to tether him inside the stables so he doesn't get lost. I also attached a lead to a chicken so Copper can have a buddy in the stable.

Conclusion Thus Far

Now I’m ready, Ammontara is ready, and it is officially time to invite you into this community on YouTube @StoneyBreeMC. I am the host and solo builder here, but the voices of this community are what bring this place to life. Your input will always be considered for all builds moving forward. Your thoughts, feelings, and ideas matter here. You are welcome.

You can publish here, too - it's easy and free.
