To start off BPD is a mental health condition that us marked with unstable moods, intense emotions , unstable relationships and poor self image. People with BPD have fear of abandonment , can act out on a impulse. People who often suffer from BPD can struggle with self-harm or deep feelings of emptiness.

Key symptoms

Fear of abandonment: Going to extreme lengths to avoid being left alone.

Unstable relationships: Switching rapidly between extreme love and extreme anger toward others.

Unstable self-image: Sudden shifts in goals, values, and identity.

Impulsive acts: Dangerous behavior like reckless driving, binge eating, or overspending.

Self-harm: Threats or acts of suicide and self-mutilation.

Extreme mood swings: Intense anxiety, irritability, or sadness lasting hours or days.

Chronic emptiness: Feeling constantly blank or alone

.Intense anger: Trouble controlling temper or frequent fights.

To be diagnose with BPD a mental health professional will look at the persons long term patterns of behavior , emotional and relationships. To receive a diagnosis a person they need to show at least 5/9 specific symptoms listened in the diagnostic manual .

Fear of abandonment: Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined separation.

Unstable relationships: Alternating between extreme closeness and sudden dislike.

Identity disturbance: Unstable self-image or a shifting sense of who you are.

Impulsive behavior: Risk-taking in two or more self-damaging areas like spending, driving, or substance use.

Self-harm: Recurrent suicidal threats, gestures, or intentional self-injury.

Mood swings: Rapid and intense emotional shifts lasting hours or days.

Emptiness: Chronic feelings of internal emptiness or boredom.

Intense anger: Frequent loss of temper or physical fights.

Stress-related paranoia: Temporary stress-induced paranoid thoughts or severe detachment
