We moved in beneath, with hopes high,

But tensions rose, and love began to hide.

His family's words, a constant strain,

Cut him down deep, and brought us pain.

He shields me from them, in this basement space,

Afraid their words will leave a lasting trace.

But isolation seeps, like a creeping tide,

Leaving me lost, with a heart that can't decide.

His dad's weird choices, a constant test,

Family belittles him, and brings him to unrest.

They smile at me, but wound him deep inside,

Making him question, if he'll ever be enough, he'll hide.

We clash and we argue, in this confined space,

Frustration builds, and love starts to lose its pace.

I yearn for freedom, for a life that's ours to share,

A place where love can grow, without the constant care.

We dream of our own place, a life untold,

Where love's the focus, not the stories they're sold.

A door to open, a space to call ours,

Where love can flourish, and hearts can soar.

Until then, we'll breathe in this dim light,

Holding on tight, through the darkest night.

Our own apartment, can't come soon enough,

A new beginning, where love can breathe rough.
