Crunch! Crunch!
Deep into the depths of the forest, during these cold autumn nights, I hear strange sounds. Like leaves on the ground getting crushed further into the Earth's chilling surface.
Walking further into the forest I hear screeching and squealing. The screeching would be coming from the crows up top waiting to drop down to eat the creature down below that is squealing out in pain.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
I get closer and closer to the sound until I arrive upon a big boulder and all the noise stops. Suddenly, it's like everything in the world has paused.
I slowly raise my hand and place it on the big rock while standing on my tippy toes to see what's behind it. The second my eye conforms to what's on the ground, I gasp loudly, because on the ground, right in front of me is a dead rat. I see a fly buzzing around it, calling the rest of them, and so on. Even more bugs gather around and start their feast.
I begin cold sweating, panicking as liquid drips down my face from my forehead....
