I am an archaeologist, at historian, ethnohistorian, researcher, and author. I have a doctorate degree in anthropological archaeology from the University of Kentucky and my research focuses on the highland Maya and related cultures of southern Guatemala and Mexico. Recently my interést in early anthropomorphic stone sculpture has led me into more comparative research, and to a specific interest in the role of competitive sports in the rise of Mesoamericas first competitive chiefdoms and city-states. My research has involved collecting and create a lot of research materials, which I will share here for the benefit of anyone who has similar interests. All I ask in return is to be credited appropriately. Thanks
Given the title of the stream, I thought I would start with defining ethnohistory. This is an unpublished reflection essay that I wrote in 2011 for a graduate seminar at the University of Kentucky. The essay asks simply what is ethnohistory?
