First there was John

Then came Mary.

When we were just kids,

We thought we needed to marry.

& they discovered

That kissing made them

Married.

When Moses brought a great flood,

Their lives were renewed;

When God granted reincarnation

They thought they'd be different.

Because they had no mother,

They wondered;

Nor father,

Come to think of it.

Mary wondered what

She'd be like if there

Really were such a being

As a mother,

Named Mary.

So God granted her wish

And made Mary

the mother of all living;

And Mary wondered if

She'd be Johns mother, Mary

If she were really

The mother of all living.

But in those days when

We were just nobodies

In the land of the living

And the only people she could see were only just her best friend, John

And her, Mother Mary.

This made John and her the

Only living beings

When it was just her;

John and his mother of all living,

Mary.

Now, when it came to be

Johns turn

To be somebody new,

By that time John had lived his whole childhood with his mother Mary and he.

So John asked God

If he could see what

It were like to be like his own mother,

Mary and if she could be like John, a he.

When John woke the next day,

He arose to find

His own self-image shown

He would see his same self reflection

He'd always seen.

For his name, John,

Means that he's the first me

Of we.

And well he thinks that

That means he now is

His own Mother Mary.
