The radiant star, how brightly so he shines;

The sphere of fire, the nucleus of the sky;

His golden rays, to which my soul inclines,

Providing warmth, and life, and harmony:

Those rays of light, they touch the earth below;

Awakening all the world from deep repose,

That all may feel the presence well they know,

And foil the darkness’ doctrine as its foes.

From eastward sets he now unto the west;

As now his work and presence are all gone,

The darkness of the night commence his feast,

And cover all the earth with shade undone.

Thus are my thoughts about this burning sphere;

Now is the morning, thence his rays appear.
