Losses from addiction. Part 1.(Credit for poem goes to Meta)

In shattered halls, she wanders alone
A soul once whole, now fractured and thrown
Addiction's chains, they bound her tight
A constant grip, a endless fight
A mother's love, a heart that bled
A child lost, a grief that's fed
The ache within, a hollowed space
A longing that cannot be replaced
She finds solace in abandoned walls
A refuge from the world's loud calls
A place to hide, a place to roam
A temporary escape from her heart's home
But in the silence, the shadows play
The ghosts of her past, they whisper her name
The memories of what she's lost, they linger on
A bittersweet reminder of what's been undone
Yet still she rises, though broken and worn
A glimmer of hope, a light that's born
A chance to heal, to mend and to repair
A new beginning, a chance to show she cares
For in the darkness, a spark remains
A flame that flickers, a love that still sustains
A mother's heart, a love that's true
A chance to rediscover, to heal, to renew.
