This poem is in regards to loosing your sanity in the ebb and flow of life. The losses that come from addiction are just as much mental as physical. There is hope though on the other side.

The painful losses within addiction. Life is fleeing. Don't ever forget to cherish the moments you get with those whom you love. You never know the true value of a moment until life takes those moments away. To have a child is the greatest gift that God provided us with. To loose one while they're still alive that's a pain no words will ever be able to provide.

It was the dead of winter, about nine years into the past. The cold outside was nothing compared to the chill that would settle in my bones in the hours to come
