Hello, friends, and welcome! I’m Aurora Meadows, and I’m thrilled you’ve stumbled into my cozy corner of NOTD.io.

If you know me, you know two things: I’m a passionate crocheter, and my life is a story of recovery and resilience.

For a long time, my mental health felt like a messy, snarled knot of yarn—frayed edges, confusing colours, and far too much tension. I was seeking external solutions to numb internal pain.

But here’s what I learned on the journey toward sobriety and healing:

We don't just recover; we create.

We don't just cut the tangled mess; we learn to use the hook and the thread to weave something beautiful and strong in its place. Crochet became my first great teacher in mindfulness, patience, and self-forgiveness. When you make a mistake, you don’t trash the whole project—you simply undo that one stitch (or "frog it," as we say!) and keep going. That’s resilience in action.

What This Stream is For:

This stream is where we combine the creative, mindful power of crafting with open, honest conversations about mental health, recovery, and breaking the stigma.

You can expect:

  • Mindful Stitching: Simple crochet exercises used for grounding, managing anxiety, and refocusing during cravings.
  • Yarn Philosophy: Lessons connecting the craft (patterns, unravelling, texture) to life, boundaries, and healing.
  • The Cozy Corner: Actionable, gentle self-care tips for building a life that feels safe and strong.

My purpose here is to show up, be honest, and build a community where we can all stitch our way toward a brighter, more beautiful future.

Let's Start the Conversation:

If you could give one piece of advice to your past self about navigating a difficult feeling or a painful moment, what would it be? Share your wisdom below—we all need to hear it.

— With warmth and a whole lot of yarn, Aurora Meadows
